Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Verbatrust Translation and Proofreading Services website and the translation, proofreading, editing, certification, localization, and interpretation services (collectively, the “Services”) we provide. By accessing our website or engaging our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or Services.
Verbatrust provides professional translation, proofreading, editing, certified translation, legal and medical translation, website and software localization, interpretation, and technical translation services across more than 10 languages. The specific scope, languages, deliverables, pricing, and turnaround time for any project are agreed upon between Verbatrust and the client before work begins, whether via a written quote, email confirmation, or order form submitted through our website.
Quotes provided through our contact form or by email are estimates based on the information you provide, such as word count, language pair, subject matter, and deadline. Final pricing may be adjusted if the scope of the source material differs materially from what was described. A project is considered confirmed once you provide written approval of the quote (including by email or through our contact form) and, where applicable, any required deposit has been received.
You are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and legible source materials, and for ensuring you have the legal right to submit any content to us for translation or proofreading. You are responsible for reviewing delivered work and notifying us of any concerns within a reasonable time so that we may address them.
Estimated turnaround times are provided in good faith based on project scope and current workload. While we make every effort to meet agreed deadlines, turnaround times are estimates and not guarantees unless expressly confirmed in writing for a specific project. Delivery is generally made electronically to the email address or method agreed upon with the client.
Payment terms, including any deposit requirements, are communicated at the time a quote is confirmed. Invoices are due upon the terms stated on the invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing. We reserve the right to withhold final deliverables until payment in full has been received, except where a different arrangement has been agreed in advance.
We stand behind the accuracy and quality of our work. If you believe a delivered translation, proofread document, or other deliverable contains an error or does not meet the agreed specifications, please contact us within a reasonable time so we can review and correct it at no additional charge. Revision requests based on stylistic preference not specified at the time of order, or changes to the original source material after delivery, may be treated as new work and quoted separately.
Certified translations include a signed statement of accuracy intended to be accepted by the institution, agency, or authority you are submitting them to. Acceptance ultimately rests with the receiving institution, and requirements vary by country, agency, and purpose. We recommend confirming specific certification, notarization, or apostille requirements with the receiving party before placing an order, and we are happy to advise based on our experience.
We treat all client documents and information as confidential. Our linguists and staff handle your materials with care and do not disclose the content of your documents to third parties except as necessary to deliver the Services (for example, to a translator or reviewer working on your project) or as required by law. A separate non-disclosure agreement is available on request for sensitive projects.
You retain all rights to the source material you provide to us. Upon full payment, you own the translated or edited deliverables we produce for you. We do not use your content for any purpose other than delivering the Services, except with your permission (for example, as an anonymized example in our portfolio, which we would only do with your prior consent).
While we take great care to deliver accurate, high-quality work, Verbatrust’s total liability for any claim arising from the Services is limited to the amount paid for the specific project giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of business, profits, or opportunities, arising from the use of our Services, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
If you need to cancel a confirmed project, please notify us as soon as possible. You will be responsible for payment for any work already completed at the time of cancellation, calculated on a pro-rata basis.
You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and not to submit content through our contact form that is fraudulent, abusive, or infringes on the rights of others. We may suspend access to our website or Services for any use that violates these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Services or for legal reasons. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of our website or Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us.
